Apart from the technical installations the wonderful building also accommodates a Posada with two stylishly furnished rooms, a restaurant as well as a conference centre and stands out in a very pleasant way from the many other newly build Bodegas wineries, as it was avoided to create an arquitectonical monument. Carlos Pulenta rather attached great importance to build a technically up-to-date and functional winery, which is especially designed for producing premium wines: exclusive use of gravity (no pumping), state-of-the-art humidity and air ventilation systems as well as custom-build concrete fermentation tanks with integrated micro-oxygenation a fully-automated temperature control. After working for more than 30 years in management positions for Bodegas Trapiche and Bodegas Salentein, Carlos Pulenta decided to realise his own idea of a Mendoza premium blend. All three „Cortes“ (Corte A, B and C) – the first vintages were launched at the end of 2005 - have within just a few months captured a firm place in the wine shops of Buenos Aires and gained great recognition on the international stage. Also the Tomero wines, which are produced from grapes of the second family-owned vineyard in the Uco Valley deserve attention. Through abstaining from intense oak ageing, these wines live on the fruit and are suitable for immediate drinking. The „Tomero“ was over many decades responsible for securing the water supply in Mendoza (installation and allocation) from the Mendoza river to the vineyards of the region. Should you happen to be on the culinary trip through Argentina, you should definitely plan a visit to the winery’s restaurant La Bourgogne. Here the taste of the best local products is combined with French Haut Cuisine in such a perfect way, that the restaurant amidst the impressive scenery of Mendoza meanwhile ranks among the country’s top dining locations.
