General information about stock saddles

These saddles have their origin in the Australian livestock (Stockmen), it looks like a cross between Engl.Dressursattel and Westernsattel. The lushly padded saddle is a bit higher above the horse and has a wide spine freedom, a lighter weight than the Western saddle and long Geade saddle sheets. The stirrup suspension is a little farther forward and the straps are above the saddle blade.

The seat is curved. The saddle gives the rider an excellent support due to the deep seat, the pronounced twins and the high pitched poles. The special feature of the stock saddle are the "poles" or pads, which are made from the English knee patches and are intended to provide the rider with a ride on steep slopes and unruly horses. These high-pitched pads are located to the right and left front of the saddle (knee pads) and sometimes behind the thigh pads at the transition from the seat to the saddle blade. For the good models, the pads and the saddle tree are one-piece.

Unlike other saddles, the crossbelt, which leads from the saddle strap over the saddle. The stock saddle is upholstered like the English saddle and has long costumes that increase the support surface of the saddle on horseback and keep the saddle stable on "round" horses.

Within 2 weeks the saddle cushions filled with wool serpent are very strong. The saddle fits optimally to horseback. Therefore you should ride without a saddle and make sure that at least three fingers wide is above the withers. Thus one has a saddle from the pole. Optimal is the good air circulation between saddle and horseback
