Balance Reins and Balance Pro from Equest

The rider has the possibility to influence the horse in such a way that the horses gather together better, react actively to the aids and remain in balance. In combination with the normal rein, horses learn to open up and accept the rider's aids more easily. The balance rein must be well adjusted, the action should be 50% on the normal rein and 50% on the balance rein. The emotional and physical balance of the horse improves as you watch.

The Balance Rein improves the collection and stretching and relieves the horse's forehand. The rider can regulate the pace more easily and gets a better balance. In addition, the reins are refined to provide less pressure on the mouth and a calmer rider's hand. length 120cm, 140cm

The Balance Pro reins is for advanced riders in performance class L and above and has a short but precise action. They bring the horse more to the hindquarters and improve the collection and uprightness of the horse. In addition, the aids on the reins are refined. length 70cm, 80cm

Important...

The effect of the balance train is achieved by soft acceptance and yielding. "The crux of the matter is the moment of yielding"

Ideally, the horse reacts by relaxing the lower neck muscles, lengthening the topline, lifting the back and shifting its weight from the forehand to the hindquarters. This encourages the horse to move in a healthy posture under the rider.

With the horse

By means of an impulse via the muscles located in the chest area, the horse reacts by lifting in the front area (withers). This supports horses that are difficult to get upright, horses that tend to stumble, but also horses that like to lie on the reins or tend to run away due to a lack of balance.
The Balance Rein is designed to help the horse to balance and coordinate and by gently accepting and giving way, the horse can easily learn to shift its weight forward, relax its neck and let go of its back.

With the rider

Due to the additional support, the hands no longer have a large radius of action, which inevitably leads to the rider consciously creating body tension in the back and thus considerably improving his or her sitting position. The interaction between seat and action is here promoted by the self-learning effect.
