The Spanish horse is ridden with two different breedings: the Sevillana bridle, which consists of a frontal belt, a buckled cheekpiece, a throatbelt and a nosebelt, or the Jerezana bridle, which consists of a front belt, a buckled cheekpiece and a nosebelt. The so-called Mosquero is fastened to the two straps at both ends; These are about 15 leather fringes, which are worked on the front belts and hang down over the face of the horse to just above the nose belt. The Mosquero's purpose is to protect the horse, whose shoulders are either shaved or braided, from annoying flies on the head. In tournaments, the judges also have the option of recognizing the rhythm of the step on its oscillation.
