As one of the most glamorous medieval buildings in Norman Sicily, the Cappella Palatina seems to have been well researched. 
Nevertheless, the incoherent layout of the mosaic furnishings in the eastern part of the palace chapel is still the subject of controversy. 
In this study, the author subjects the New Testament pictorial mosaics to a detailed iconographic examination, which has led to surprising
 results in terms of interpretation and dating.
