The stag beetle - Lucanus cervus - is one of the largest and most famous European beetles. Its name from the stag beetle was due to the antler-like enlarged male mandibles (upper jaw). The name "Donnergugi" goes back to the epithet Donar of the god Thor.
The beetle is about 4 cm long and is embeded in acrylic glass.
The Paperweight "Stag Beetle" has a diameter of 8 cm and is a world premiere. Production is limited to 50 pieces.
