/// /// Vida Norkutė: The Mysterious Magic of Watercolor Art The album is dedicated to the work of Vida Norkutė (1949–2021), one of the most prominent Lithuanian watercolor artists of the past four decades, inspired by Japanese art. It focuses on the origins of the artist's work, the influence of her direct teachers - the great watercolor masters Česlov Kontrim and Algirdas Lukštas -, the most characteristic genres and forms of artistic expression adopted from the Japanese art tradition. Other important factors that shaped the uniqueness of V. Norkutė's artistic style are also explored. Special attention is paid to the artist's interest in the poetics of Čiurlionis and the genres of landscape and "flowers and birds" that enhance the beauty of nature cultivated in the Japanese art tradition. V. Norkutė is regarded as almost the brightest representative of the Lithuanian spontaneous watercolor tradition.
