The GBE Rurtalbahn 2.0
Already in 1846 a railway committee was founded in Düren with the goal
to build a railway line from Düren to Trier.
The planned route should follow the Rurtal to Heimbach and continue from there
follow the valleys of the Eifel via Schleiden.
Ultimately, the plan was rejected and the Eifel route via Euskirchen
and not built on Heimbach.
The GBE Rurtalbahn 2.0 offers you the opportunity on 30 kilometers
to recreate the flair and the impressive atmosphere around the Rur valley realistically.
Use the Regioshuttle BR650 to drive through excessive turns and pay attention
on the signals.

The 245 series
The locomotive classed as class 245 at DB AG is actually an electric locomotive that always carries its power
generators with it. It is very similar to the Traxx electric locomotives of the DB series 145/146 and 185.
The engines offer an output of 2200 kW, as required for the 245. It replaces the 218 series.
GBE series 628
The 628 series is a series of two-piece diesel railcars consisting of one engine 628 each and the 928 control car.
These vehicles are used nationwide in local traffic on secondary and subordinate main lines. They are considered successors to the railbuses.
