In order to meet the increasing demand for transport of perishable foodstuffs, 
the Deutsche Reichsbahn procured new refrigerators designed for beer and meat transport.

A total of around 2,600 wagons came to DB, which were converted in various forms over the course of the operating period. 
Despite the new procurement of refrigerator cars in the 50s, the DB could not do without the cars initially. 
It was only with the transfer of the refrigerated traffic to the street, that the older cars were phased out. 
At the end of 1968, more than 1,500 wagons existed, the last ones not remaining until 1981, some of them found a new purpose as private beer wagons.

The ICE 4 is the new generation of Intercity Express (ICE) high-speed trains for long-distance passenger transport.  A twelve-car variant and a seven-car variant are to be used.
The seven-car variant has three powered carriages. It will offer 456 seats over a length of 200 metres. The maximum speed is 230 km/h. The twelve-car multiple-unit train has six powered carriages and offers 830 seats over a length of 346 metres. The maximum speed is 250 km/h.

The ICE 1 is the first generation of Intercity Express (ICE) high-speed trains for long-distance passenger transport. This multiple-unit train also operates across borders on the Swiss network. The multiple-unit trains deployed are normally made up of two power cars (series 401) and up to 14 centre cars of series 801 to 804. Occasionally, they are combined with power cars (class 402) and second-class centre coaches (class 806) of the ICE 2.
