The hydraulic piston has an external thread for the adjusting ring 

Function: 1. Pump up the cylinder

                2. Cylinder piston comes out with locknut

                3. Locknut is lowered

The cylinder now can hold the weight infinitely.

Because of the locknut, the cylinder can´t lower and loose height
