Objectives:

Framatome avails of outstanding expertise in numerical methods and applied mathematics and offers courses to customers who are interested in enhancing their own competences in these areas.

Course contents can be adjusted to the specific needs of each individual customer.

Content:

• Solution approaches for linear systems (incl. LU-decomposition, Choleski Factorization, Iterative solution etc.)
• Interpolation methods
• Approaches for solving eigensystems
• Iterative solution methods for sparse systems
• Solution methods for non-linear equations
• Tuning / Search methods (Newton, Secant)
• Preconditioning and acceleration techniques
• Krylov subspace methods
• Adjoint equations and generalized perturbation theory
• Finite Element Methods
• Numerical stability and instability
• Time integration methods

The contents, the format (see hereafter) and the duration are adapted according to the customer request and needs.

The course materials are based on the most up-to-date world-wide Framatome know-how to provide to our attendees the highest quality on the technical content of our courses.

The teaching material includes interactive PowerPoint presentations and  hands-on exercises. The training can also comprise exercises on simulator.

The instructors come from the Framatome GmbH Fuel Engineering site. Their knowledge is based on years of experience in engineering service activities, as well as on the specific competences necessary for the training.
