Core Monitoring & Surveillance

Objectives:

 Give an applied training on the core monitoring & surveillance principles. The trainee will profit from the world-wide applied experience of Framatome engineers  on different type of PWR reactors and safety regulations. The training is based on the core monitoring system ARGOS. 

Content:

Depending on the plant (EPR-, KONVOI-, Westinghouse-type) and thus the implemented core design & monitoring systems the actual content of the training will be adapted and tailored to the customer needs:

• Introduction/Overview on ARGOS core monitoring system
• Methods and Codes (can be also separately offered)
  • MEDIAN, Measurement Dependent Calculation of 3D Power Distributions
  • Improved Xenon Treatment in Core Monitoring
• Hands-on GUI-Training:
  • Core follow functionalities
  • Evaluation of Reference Measurements
  • Prediction Calculations

The contents, the format (see hereafter), and the duration are adapted according to the customer request and needs.

The course materials are based on the most up-to-date world-wide Framatome know-how to provide to our attendees the highest quality on the technical content of our courses.

The teaching material includes interactive PowerPoint presentations and  hands-on exercises. The training can also comprise exercises on simulator,  on equipment mock-ups, and also guided visits of test facilities.

The instructors comes from the Framatome GmbH Fuel Engineering site. Their knowledge is based on years of experience in engineering service activities, as well as on the specific competences necessary for the training.
